 Skoda Auto начала сборку компактвэна Roomster на заводе в городке Врхлаби. Для производства автомобиля компания решила использовать мощности, освободившиеся после снятия с конвейера первого поколения Skoda Octavia Tour.

В Врхлаби после окончания сборки Octavia Tour I необходимо было перенести выпуск какой-то другой модели и мы нашли отличное решение переместив туда линию по изготовлению Skoda Roomster - отмечает глава чешской марки Винфрид Фаланд.
Шкода Румстер - первый автомобиль класса MPV от Skoda. Этот компактный и удобный минивэн обладает впечатляющей вместительностью, легко трансформируемым салоном и оригинальным дизайном, за что его любят во всем мире. В начале прошлого года эта семейная модель была значительно модернизирована, за счет чего ее популярность только повысилась.
After the phase out of the Škoda Octavia Tour, capacities continue to be fully utilized. In the Škoda plant in Vrchlabí, assembly of the Škoda Roomster has been started successfully.
Until now, the model Octavia Tour had been manufactured in the plant. After a total of 1,442,126 produced vehicles, the last Octavia Tour came off the line in mid-November of 2010. With the manufacture of the Roomster, the automobile factory at the foot of the Giant Mountains is an integral part of the production capacities of the largest Czech automobile manufacturer.
"Škoda’s manufacturing capacities in the Czech Republic are the basis for the success of our brand. In the past years, we were able to steadily increase our capacity. Škoda Auto will continue to rely on domestic production in the future”, said Škoda’s chairman of the board, Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. "With the production of the Škoda Roomster, we have found a good future for the manufacturing plant in Vrchlabí, too.”
The Škoda Roomster is the first so-called multi purpose vehicle (MPV) of the Czech manufacturer. The versatile vehicle is a real transformation artist. With its enormous loading capacity, generous headroom and legroom, and the highly variable utilization of its interior space, the Roomster is an ideal vehicle primarily for families, offering comfort, safety, and utility in an equal measure. In 2010, the model received an extensive facelift. With the new face and new engines, the popular all-rounder has been even more attractive since.
